Nuevo registro de Notocheirus hubbsi en Chile central / New register of Notocheiron hubbsi in central Chile

Durante el desarrollo del proyecto Fondecyt 1150296, y en interior de las muestras recolectadas en enero 2016 con trampas de luz en Bahía El Quisco, apareció un adulto de Notocheirus hubbsi Clark (familia Notocheiridae). Esta especie habita las aguas costeras de Chile y Argentina. La identificación fue realizada por el biólogo marino Pablo Reyes, de la Fundación Ictiológica.

During the development of the Project Fondecyt 1150296, in a sample collected during January 2016 with light traps at El Quisco Bay, we found a surf silverside Notocheirus hubbsi Clark (family Notocheiridae). This species inhabit coastal waters of Chile and Argentina. Identification  was carried out by the marine biologist Pablo Reyes, from Fundación Ictiológica.
